Der Autor
Mark Benecke arbeitet weltweit als Kriminalbiologe. Er ist Mitglied und Ehrenmitglied biologischer Fachgesellschaften in mehreren Ländern. Eine Schlangenstern-Art wurde nach ihm benannt, und auf einem totem Tier hat Mark eine zuvor unbekannte Trauermücke entdeckt. Sein wöchentlicher Wissenspodcast markypod.com auf Radioeins ist der älteste im deutschsprachigen Raum. Zur Zeit des ersten Sars-Ausbruches war Mark in China.
